The Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) will soon have offices on each campus.  The North Mankato campus office is located near the library behind the Copy Shop.  The Faribault campus office is TBD.

Nominate a Colleague for the Minnesota State Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching

The South Central College Board of Trustees (BOT) Award Task Force seeks nominations for the 2019-20 Minnesota Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching. This award recognizes the core importance of the teaching mission at our colleges and universities, and the foundation of that mission is skillful methods of teaching, attention to student learning, and faculty subject matter expertise. The primary criterion is skill in teaching that is inclusive, innovative, learning-centered, and collaborative. The award reflects the commitment to providing high-quality instruction that prepares college and university students of Minnesota State for their professional, scholarly, and civic lives. SCC's BOT Award Task Force will identify up to two faculty members to recommend to the President. Upon approval by the President, the faculty member(s) will be named SCC's  BOT "Outstanding Educator," and be eligible to be one of Minnesota State's "Educators of the Year."

Eligibility
- Full-time and part-time faculty are eligible.
- Nominees must have at least 3 years of full-time equivalent teaching service at South Central College prior to the year of their selection. 
- Self-nominations are not allowed. 

Criteria
Nominations are evaluated on all of the following 5 criteria: 
- Innovative Teaching Strategies and Materials
- Service to Students, Profession, Institution, System to advance teaching excellence
- Standards for assessment of Student Learning and Performance
- Culturally Responsive Teaching and Pedagogy
- Content Expertise & Professional Growth
