Come watch this exciting competition unfold while supporting the South Central College Culinary Arts program!  

The “Slice, Cut, Cook” Culinary Arts Cooking Competition will feature four teams of professional chefs paired with local personalities: 
• Virgil Emmert, Executive Chef for the Minnesota Vikings and Sarah Richards, President & CEO of Jones Medal
• Lacey Hassing, Owner of Lacey’s Catering and Mark Dehen, North Mankato Mayor
• Daryl Littlehead, Head Chef at Number 4 American Kitchen & Bar and Melissa Bradley, CFO of Snell Motors
• Lacey Lueth, Owner of Lola’s An America Bistro and Dr. Annette Parker, President of South Central College

The Culinary Arts program has earned a stellar reputation for training high-quality professional food service managers, chefs and cooks. Under the direction of Chef Michael Broughten, himself an accomplished chef, students are provided with opportunities for hands-on learning and develop a solid skill set necessary to become proficient chefs and knowledgeable food service professionals. SCC Culinary Arts students will have the opportunity to travel to Spain and participate in a learning abroad opportunity this spring in which history, food, architecture, and festivities will come together to make this trip a unique and worthwhile experience for all. The students will visit some of the regions most idyllic locales and make lifelong friends as they learn more about industry from another country's perspective.
