Faribault, MN- The 2012 Minnesota State Bonding Bill provided $13.3 million in remodeling and expansion resources for the Faribault Campus of South Central College. The Groundbreaking Ceremony will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 beginning at 8:00 AM. There will be an outdoor ceremony (weather permitting) followed by refreshments in the college Student Commons. SCC’s Faribault Campus is located at 1225 Third St. SW in Faribault. Thanks for Your Support
I’m finally back at work, on a limited part-time basis, after being hospitalized for removal of my left kidney on December 24th. Progress is slow but steady. Thanks to all those that have followed my Caringbridge site and provided words of encouragement, cards and prayers. I appreciate all your support. Keep the prayers coming for my complete recovery!

IT’S OFFICIAL – RETIREMENT JULY 31
My letter of intent to retire July 31, 2013 was presented to President Stover last week. I have had the pleasure to serve three wonderful Presidents during my 23 years at the college; I’ve survived four name changes; two mission changes; and three mergers (Albert Lea, Faribault and MnSCU). I feel truly blessed to have worked for this fine institution, supported by my Graphics team (Wally Werling, Scott Rahe, Jane Geiger, and our talented workstudy student Cassandra Guyer) who continue to make me look good. I knew it was time to retire during the recent creation of our new SCC jingle ----my age missed the targeted demographic by nearly 40 years! It is definitely time for someone younger to assume the duties! The next months are certain to go by far too fast and I assure you…I’m not retired yet!

participated in the Tour of Manufacturing through Greater Mankato Growth and the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, October 25th. SCC’s Faribault Campus hosted a luncheon and panel discussion followed by a tour of our Computer Integrated Machining Department and local manufacturing facilities. This event was extremely successful and helped to expose high school students and community members to the great jobs available in manufacturing and the education available at SCC. I wish to thank our engaged faculty members who provided such amazing displays and our enthusiastic student affairs staff that acted as our tour guides.
